BlueTiger is creating a totally new level
of video game involvement with just the right mix of performance,
styling, and durability. As in real race cars and airplanes,
good design is always a balance between strength and performance.
The BlueTiger Motion Simulator is very light weight and extremely
strong for aggressive home, commercial, and arcade use. Nevertheless,
it has an impressive maximum weight payload for rider and accessories
of 350 pounds. BlueTiger
provides ±20° of independent pitch and ±20°
of independent roll. However, the nature of the BlueTiger geometry
also moves the rider through ±10" heave, ±8"
surge, and ±8" sway associated with the pitch and
roll movements.
The base of the
simulator houses the power supply, control electronics, and motors.
The sled is the moving part of the system and is attached to
the top of the base. A ballistic nylon bellows is between the
base and the sled to protect moving parts from dust and debris.
The base uses bolt-on outrigger legs for free standing stability,
or it can be bolted directly to the floor (or a floor plate)
using flanges.
BlueTiger
is designed to accommodate LCD monitors or televisions up to
32". The Monitor Mounting Frame & Bracket assembly is
adjustable to fit the spacing for typical flat panel mounting.
The
BlueTiger Motion Simulator sled can be ordered with either a
generic Controller Shelf or the BlueTiger Steering Console. The
generic shelf is intended for mounting third-party game controls
such as steering wheels and joysticks. The shelf is adjustable
forward and backwards, up and down, and tilts ±7.5°
so controls can be set to the correct height, distance, and angle
for the driver. Car pedals or airplane rudders are mounted to
the floorboard.
BlueTiger
is all electric for quiet, clean operation. Power consumption
is 200 watts unloaded and 700 watts under maximum load, which
means BlueTiger can operate from a standard electrical wall socket.
The power supply and electronics are modular and field replaceable.
Voltage is preset at the factory for either 115VAC or 230VAC,
but it can be changed in the field. The main power on/off switch
is located at the right front corner of the base. LED cue lights
on the front of the simulator base indicate:

Ethernet
10BaseT/100BaseTX is provided for communication from the simulator
to the game computer (RJ45 socket/CAT5 cable). Three cue lights
located on the RJ45 socket at the front of the simulator indicate
ethernet status.

The
BlueTiger Motion Simulator is equipped with a yellow Pause Motion
pushbutton. When pushed, the simulator returns to level and all
motion is paused but game play is allowed to continue. Most games
also have a pause function that will cause both game play and
simulator movement to pause.

A red Emergency Stop pushbutton is provided. It is located
in the cockpit within easy reach of the rider or bystanders.
The Emergency Stop pushbutton will disable the motors and stop
the simulator. A main power off/on cycle is required to reset.

The
Pause Motion and Emergency Stop pushbuttons are located in the
Controller Shelf or they are installed in the BlueTiger Steering
Console. If neither the generic controls shelf nor the steering
wheel console are ordered, the safety pushbuttons will be factory
installed on the sled instead of the controls shelf.
